About

Hi, we’re Tideways and we help you gain performance insights.

Our mission is to move the PHP ecosystem forward, starting with performance.

The story of Tideways

Benjamin, our CEO, successfully turned his PHP roots into wings for his own company.

To support all fellow PHP enthusiasts and everyone looking to improve the performance of their website, he founded the Profiling, Monitoring and Exception Tracking Tool Tideways. A nightmare for all bugs and a dream come true for developers! Since then, Tideways has grown and evolved.

A message from our CEO

“Before Tideways, I performed many load tests for e-commerce customers to prepare for Black Friday and other peak load times. It was very unsatisfactory for me to only see that a shop couldn’t handle the load, without knowing why. My idea for a profiling tool that could remove the cloud of uncertainty was born at that moment.

The initial version of the Profiler was based on the open-source XHProf Profiler that Facebook released for PHP in 2009. From that moment forward, the Tideways Profiler began to take shape. It always fascinated me to understand the causes for slow loading times, and implementing fixes for those bottlenecks based on these insights in the least amount of time.

I created Tideways for PHP and it seamlessly integrates with popular online shop software like Shopware and Magento, as well as various libraries and frameworks like Symfony or Laravel.”
